We are currently only looking for volunteers to help out in our catteries – thank you for your interest!
Volunteering is a great way to enrich your life and the lives of animals. Through the help of volunteers we are able to provide one-on-one socialization for the animals as well as a clean and safe living environment. Volunteers are key in supporting staff, assisting in the care of the animals and helping to spread the word about Pixie’s work throughout the community. The first step in becoming a Pixie volunteer is to fill out our volunteer application below!
NOTE: For liability and insurance reasons, we can only accept volunteers who are 16 years or older.
Types of Volunteer Opportunities:
Please note: Most of our volunteer opportunities are available for single volunteers only. Due to the nature of the volunteer positions and the size of our shelter, it can be difficult for us to accommodate groups of volunteers. - Cattery
Cattery volunteers help staff maintain the cleanliness of the cattery and provide playtime and socialization for the kitties. They are also responsible for cleaning and handling cats in the isolation area. Cattery shifts are available throughout the day, Tuesday – Saturday. The morning shifts begin at 10 am and the evening shift starts at 4 pm. Each shift generally lasts 1-2 hours, or however long you are able to spend with the kitties!
We are incredibly grateful to our wonderful volunteers and appreciate the remarkable job they do for the animals, the adoption center, and our community.
