🏆Nominate the Pixie Project for the Best Animal Nonprofit in Portland! Nominations are open until 4/20 & we need your help! 🏆

Hello! My name is Benjamin and I am a sweet 3 year old Chihuahua/ Pug mix weighing just at around 10 lbs. I am looking for a nice quiet adult only foster home to settle into while I search for my forever home. I am a great little walker and really look forward to my daily walks with the volunteers. I have met some doggy pals while here at Pixie and do best with mellow friends who just like to hang or cuddle. I am a snuggler all the way and am happy to sit on the couch with you while we watch some movie marathons! Please email Pixie at info@pixieproject.org if you are interested in giving me some rest and relaxation while awaiting my forever family! 🙂

Grape (brown tabby with white face and bib) and her son Vino are two chunky, lovey dovey, cuddly older cats that can’t wait to find their way into the hearts and home of their new family! These delectable kitties adore one another and are often found together snuggling and using each other as pillows — it’s too cute! They both LOVE cheek scratches, and Vino, the younger kitty around 11 years old, absolutely welcomes scratches and pets of all kinds. His mother Grape — a mature fruit of aged around 12-years — is a little more dignified and will have more opinions about where she’d like to be touched, but is also very sweet and gentle about communicating when she’s had enough. Vino will never say no to pets of any kind. In fact, he’ll actually stretch his paw out to try to stop you from leaving if you just give him one pet/scratch and don’t stay for more. They love to curl up next to their foster mom on the couch, or nearby wherever she is, though they are big kitties and don’t often crawl all the way into her lap. Though they are both generally very polite and quiet house guests, they are also still quite playful — especially young Vino! These kitties are used to a quieter environment and would love an adult-only home since they can be just a tad shy after losing the only home they’ve known. Both kitties are totally undisturbed by their foster parent’s dog and seem like they’d do great with a calm canine in the household. They are perfectly happy living entirely indoors, and do not need a ton of space to move around, so apartment life would be just fine. Both are healthy and have no special needs at this time, other than needing each other! They are extremely bonded and will definitely need to go to a home together. Don’t you think they’re just divine? They are currently residing in a foster home, so fill out an application to meet them today! They come to you fixed, vaccinated, and micro-chipped for a combined adoption fee of $164.00.

–THIS IS A COURTESY POSTING; THIS CAT IS NOT BEING HOMED THROUGH THE PIXIE PROJECT. FOR MORE INFORMATION ABOUT OSCAR, PLEASE CONTACT TARYN AT THE EMAIL BELOW–
I adopted Oscar from a rescue in early 2013 when he was 12 weeks old in Houston, Texas. He’s an early October 2012 birthday, almost 7 years old. So far he’s lived in 4 states. He is a really sweet cat but unfortunately him and my female cat no longer get along. However, he gets along very well with my little orange male cat. He needs a loving home with people that will give him lots of attention and that not mind playing fetch and giving lots of belly rubs. He might do well with another cat that is docile and introduced slowly. But preferably a home with no other cats at this point. He’s tolerant of my 3 year old son but avoids him, never mean or aggressive just runs away if he thinks he is going to get chased. He does well with my parents dog who is about the same size as him, I’m not sure how he’d do with a large dog. He is slow to warm up to other animals in general. He is very affectionate and talkative with people. He’s not much of a lap cat but will occasionally want some love. He loves to rub on your legs and ask for head scratches. He is an indoor cat but likes supervised time outside. He also likes to be in the garage with food and a liter box. At this point, he sleeps in the garage with a bed and enjoys it. He wouldn’t do well as an outdoor cat as he’s not “street smart” and is pretty skittish about loud sounds and unfamiliar things. He boards well at the kennel now that he’s used to it when I’m out of town and he travels well in a car. He is such a sweet, loving boy and a great pet. I’d like to see him in a home with a family not planning to have kids or the kids they have are 10+ years old. He is a bit of an attention seeker so he’d be best as an only pet. He’s up to date on all shots (every January for check up and shots) I have all records.
If you’re interested or would like to meet him please email Taryn.speer9112@gmail.com.

Linda is an absolutely amazing cattery volunteer who’s been with Pixie for more than FIVE years. She comes at least one (but usually two) mornings a week, every week, to clean up after and care for all the kitties in the building. She has also fostered and adopted cats from us, uses her years of service industry experience to help us at our huge annual fundraiser, and is a wonderful, sweet person that lights up the shelter and makes everyone smile whenever she’s here! She’s an absolute doll with all of the cats and definitely provides a ton of comfort to each and every one. Last year, she was the recipient of our Cattery Award and she deserves to be recognized for her amazing work. Thank you, Linda!

Stunning, charismatic and classy — that’s me, Cassie! I’m an absolutely beautiful 7-year-old red and silver tabby kitty that is ready for cuddles! When I first got to Pixie, I was a little over-whelmed since I’d only ever lived with a single man who sadly passed away. I’ve only been here for a couple of weeks, and I’ve already opened up and am absolutely in love with receiving as much attention as I can get! Even though I’m a bigger gal, I don’t mind being picked up and held. I’m great with kids, though would probably prefer a relatively mellow home since that is what I was used to. I can even start to get playful when I’m in the mood! I’m a very quiet kitty that doesn’t meow much at all and that is also very tidy and low-maintenance. I’d adore a home where I could get lots of cuddles, but at my age I’m also independent enough that I can lounge around and keep myself occupied while you’re at work all day. I’m used to being indoors all the time and wouldn’t mind apartment life at all. Everyone who meets me just falls in love right away, and I know you will, too! Won’t you come by Pixie and say hello? I can’t wait to meet you! I come to you fixed, vaccinated, and micro-chipped for an adoption fee of $100.
