-THIS DOG IS NOT BEING RE-HOMED THROUGH THE PIXIE PROJECT.  THIS IS A COURTESY POST; PLEASE CONTACT ALI AT THE INFO BELOW FOR MORE DETAILS-
Meet Cricket! Cricket is a 5 year old, snugly Yorkshire Terrier that we got from a rescue a year and a half ago. She defines lap dog! In fact, if she sees you headed in the general direction of a chair, she is one step ahead of you and already planning on jumping on your lap for the remainder of the evening. Cricket doesn’t like toys and is not very playful. She loves to be held and just wants to be in the same room as you. Rain is stressful to her so a covered patio for going potty outside would be helpful in preventing accidents. If the weather is nice, she likes short walks. Cricket knows basic commands such as “sit” lay down” “outside?” and “go potty.” She definitely knows the word “treat!” 🙂 If she goes in a room she isn’t allowed in, we say “out” and she obeys. She knows “on your bed” when we are putting her to bed at night or leaving the house during the day. She is not crate trained (makes her anxious) but she does well with dog boarding when we vacation. We trained her to sleep in the dog bed and at night and keep her closed off in our kitchen with our other dog. They sleep on a dog bed which has a pet heating pad underneath that they LOVE! Our vet actually recommended letting her sleep in our bed to help relieve her stress at night. She would not object to sleeping in your bed with you….if you allow that in your home. 😉

Why we are re-homing her:

Cricket has been misplaced one too many times. She has chronic stress and anxiety. Cricket is currently living with our family of four (we have two teenagers and another small dog). We feel she would be happier and healthier in a home where someone is home most of the day. (Work at home? Retired?) When we got her, she was living with a foster family that had small children and lots of other dogs. They told us she was “generally happy and sweet natured, she just needed to put on a few pounds.” They had placed her before we got her and it didn’t work out so she went back to the foster home. When we got home with her we quickly learned that Cricket has text book anxiety and needed lots of extra love and nutrition. She growls when scared, starts sneezing and licking her lips excessively, or scratching at herself excessively when she is scared, intimidated or nervous. After trying everything natural for anxiety in pets, we tried medication. She responded very well to the medicine but we unfortunately can’t afford to medicate her monthly. Our biggest concern with keeping her is that our family lifestyle is causing her more anxiety than she can handle. If interested in her adoption, please contact Ali at 503-853-4473 or Aliheiken@gmail.com!  We are asking a $200 adoption fee.

THIS CAT IS  NOT BEING HOMED THROUGH PIXIE PROJECT. THIS IS A COURTESY POSTING; PLEASE CONTACT KATY AT THE EMAIL BELOW FOR MORE DETAILS

Hi my name is Molly. I am looking for a new home as I lost my owner who was 105.5 years of age when she passed away. She was sort of a celebrity and was even on the show called cuppa Joe on KG W news. She also rescued me from the pound. I am about eight years of age and I am not used to living with any other animals or children. I can be very affectionate and I also like my alone time. I can’t wait to find my new forever home. If you are interested in meeting me, please email Katy at katykdcam@comcast.net.

THIS CAT IS  NOT BEING HOMED THROUGH PIXIE PROJECT. THIS IS A COURTESY POSTING; PLEASE CONTACT STEPHANIE  AT THE EMAIL/PHONE NUMBER BELOW FOR MORE DETAILS

Daisy is a 17 year old sweet, quiet indoor-only cat who I took in to foster after her “mom and dad” passed away 6 months apart from each other from cancer. This has been devastating for us all. I took her in as her former house-sitter and family friend. Alas, she is not adjusting well in our home. She needs to be the only cat in a home. She does well with low key dogs who know how to respect a cat’s space. No kids unless they are older kids who know how to be gentle and respectful to cats. In my house, she has become increasingly agitated at random times and if she ever sees one of the other cats I worry she’s stressing herself out so badly that she’s going to give herself a stroke. She basically doesn’t leave my room anymore. I am heartbroken as I wish she would understand that our home wants to provide her with love. But so many changes so soon seem to be proving too much for this old lady.

Family members of the deceased are more than willing to cover all costs of care for this cat.   I am really just trying to find a trusting home for peace of mind that this cat can live out the end of her life comfortably and peacefully. As far as I know she is healthy and has no obvious medical concerns. For more information, please contact Stephanie at: king.stephanie.n@gmail.com or 503-367-3643.

-THIS CAT IS  NOT BEING HOMED THROUGH PIXIE PROJECT. THIS IS A COURTESY POSTING; PLEASE CONTACT THE  VET CLINIC  BELOW FOR MORE DETAILS

This is Emma, a beautiful 13 year old friend looking for a new home. Her family loves her dearly, it will break their hearts to see her go, but one of them has developed a severe allergy to cat hair. Emma has a common & manageable older cat condition called hyperthyroidism, but they love her so much they’ve offered to pay for her cure so we can find her new home! There are numerous treatment options to fit different lifestyles, budgets and the cats themselves.

Her family says  she is intelligent and good-natured (we completely agree!), inquisitive, and playful  🙂
Her interests include warming laps at night, self-grooming to keep up her appearance, and would do best in a home where she can find privacy away from other pets and children.

A permanent cure for hyperthyroidism is called Iodine 131, wherein a special facility will give her a single pill targeting the overactive part of the thyroid gland. It’s actually the same treatment that many people receive for the same condition. Fortunately, we have several hospitals in Portland offering Iodine 131 treatment. The cost is generally about $1000 and is very safe. The best part is that, in her future, no daily meds would be needed – it truly is a cure! Emma is a great candidate for this treatment. If you wish to adopt her, we can give you more info about meeting her, it is a very simple process

-THESE CATS ARE NOT BEING HOMED THROUGH PIXIE PROJECT. THIS IS A COURTESY POSTING; PLEASE CONTACT THE EMAIL BELOW FOR MORE DETAILS
Mishka is a sweet, loving kitty who loves to snuggle at the foot of the bed or on the pillow next to you.  She’s a very loving and affectionate cat who loves to curl up next to you and loves to spend lots of time in front of the heater! She likes her head scratched.  She’s not really that playful because she’s older (she’s about 10 years old), and she hides a lot unless it’s super quiet in the house. She would do best in a quiet, adult-only home and would love someone who was around a lot since she’s very affectionate. She is spayed, up-to-date on vaccines, and has been to the vet recently. She is in good health and needs a less stressful environment where she can open up and be more confident.

Lando-pic-1 (1)

Who’s the good looking smuggler in the empire? It’s me, Lando Calrissian! Weighing in at 50lbs, I am big old goofball 2 year old shepherd mix.  But don’t let my age fool you! I am still very puppy like, bouncy, and full of energy. I am always ready to be on the go, whether its a play session with my puppy pals, fetch in the yard, or piloting the Millennium Falcon to our next galactic hiking spot! When I am not jumping around and having a good time, I am actually a pretty smart guy-with the help of a few tasty treats of course. PUPPY CLASSES ARE MANDATORY FOR MY ADOPTION!  Because of my puppy wiggles, I would need to be in an home without cats and with kids over 14. Hopefully a nice big yard to run around in too!  I really loved playing with my puppy space pals and thus would enjoy romping around  with another confident pup who likes to play like me.  They know me throughout the galaxy as a gambler, but don’t worry, I wouldn’t gamble my love away to anybody else but you! Fill out an application today, so we can meet! I come to you vaccinated, micro-chipped, and neutered with an adoption fee of $300.

Bernice

Hello! My name is Bernice and I am a sweet 14 year old lady. I am currently being fostered after my previous owner was moved to nursing care. I am a slender long haired tuxedo cat, and am in good spirits considering all my years. I love to be brushed and  cuddled and have been told I am a purrrrfect foot warmer.   I would do best as a single cat but I can hang with others if I have to.

I am in foster, so please fill out your application and Pixie will contact you to set up a meet and greet! I come to you spayed, vaccinated, and micro-chipped for an adoption fee of $80.

Hi, I’m Samba! I’m a cuddly and playful 4-year-old girl with short black fur that is shiny, soft, and doesn’t shed very much. I’m looking for a forever home with people who understand cats and will respect my personal space. I ask for pets when I want them (at least a few good cuddle sessions every day!), and I enjoy having someone nearby while we do our own things. I love getting pets and scratches on my upper torso–they make me so happy that I stretch out my belly and wiggle around! My foster mom says I have the cutest, fluffiest, softest armpits she’s ever seen so it’s a good thing that I show them off while we’re cuddling! Another way I like to show my people I love them is with loud purrs and biscuits — I like to sit on my foster mom’s bed and display my purry biscuits skills before curling up to sleep at the foot of her bed or right on top of her! But I don’t necessarily want to cuddle all day long — I do enjoy my nap time, and I’m pretty young so I still love to play! My current favorite toys are mice that rattle when I throw them, and dangly toys that only seem to work when my human is home! My foster mom says I’m a good communicator so if you pay attention you’ll know when I’m ready to cuddle, play, or have some alone time. I have lived around other kitties before but really prefer to be your one-and-only princess, and I’m not a big fan of kids so would probably be happiest in an adult-only home. I’m currently living in a foster home, so if you’re looking for a loving companion like me,  fill out an application to meet me today! I am in excellent health and come to you fixed, vaccinated, and micro-chipped for an adoption fee of $100.
