Oh hi. I’m Stormy. Some say I am of the breed: Ragdoll. As a young cat I was passed around a few times to different owners, by circumstance, and I really just want a stable, loving family to live out the rest of my days with. When I’m not sleeping in a cozy secret spot I can be found sipping the freshest of water from the kitchen sink or bathtub. Toys are fun to play with in a location where you and I can play freely with no interruptions from some others (curious dogs 😉 ). I like dogs, don’t get me wrong, we are mostly simpatico. But they can impair mobility at times. Annoying, right? I’m pretty laid back with other pets and people, but don’t like to be held much. And, I like to be near you but not on you, like Odie there. 😀

Oh my goodness — aren’t I adorable? My name is Gracie, and I am just about the sweetest little 6-year-old lady cat you will ever meet! I am very soft and snuggly, and my tongue often pokes out which just gives me the cutest character. I have a very calm and affectionate demeanor, and am extremely receptive to any attention I can get. I have very soft fur and will roll over and purr for pets. I’m still young and definitely have a playful side, and would probably do well with a family with older children or with a couple or single person. I’m not quite sure how I feel about other animals, but could probably adjust well to other pets in the home if I was given time to acclimate. My favorite thing so far seems to be snuggling in a warm fluffy bed or better yet — a warm lap! I know I will be a great companion for anyone who is looking for a soft, adorable kitty to brighten their day. I mean, how can you look at this face and not smile? I came to Pixie after my former owner was no longer able to care for me, but it is obvious I was well-loved, as I simply adore people and petting. If someone gives me enough attention, I will flop over and start “making muffins” with my tiny adorable little paws. I have lived around another cat before and would probably do just fine around other animals, though I’d be totally happy as your only one as well. My namesake may play a villain on TV, but my only agenda is to make you fall in love with me! Our story wouldn’t be an American Horror Story — it’d be an American Love Story! The doctor has given me a clean bill of health and I am ready to meet you, so what are you waiting for? Let’s walk down the red carpet together and ride off into our happily ever after! While Dewey’s dream life would be to live in a tennis ball factory, he’s been in our shelter since last winter. This handsome four year old is young and spunky and raring to go. He has incredible enthusiasm for life and will need a home with people who can match that enthusiasm. Dewey usually waits anxiously but quietly at the front of his kennel for his chance to get out with us and his beloved tennis balls; he’s currently trying for a record of four in his mouth at one time and would be happy to play fetch much longer than any of our throwing arms can hold out.  Dewey came to us from a home with kids and will need to go to a home with a fully-fenced yard and no kitties.

The shelter requires all members of the household to meet prospective adoptees.  We do home checks, but for those of you who live outside of the county, you’ll simply need to bring photos of your home, yard, and fence.  Adoption fees are $110.00 for dogs younger than ten years old and include micro-chipping and registration.
