Sweet, cuddly and so darn cute, my name is Lola and I am a 10 yo Husky mix weighing in about 60 lbs. Being a little bit older, I am a fairly easy going and mellow gal with a heart of gold! My foster mom says I adore my daily walks and love taking in all the smells of the world. But by far my favorite activity is naps! Snoozing and naps. Naps and snoozing. I really enjoy being around my human pals as they give me yummy treats and lots of pets! And if you hit the right spot, well I will even melt into a puddle begging for a full on belly rub! My foster says I am a quiet and proper lady, often times giving you a “curtsy” while stretching my legs. You might notice my eye is missing or maybe just really tiny, and the vet said it was just something I was born with. But it doesn’t bother me at all and definitely doesn’t shine down my confidence, as I am one happy lady! Nothing can bring me down! I have met other dog friends and seem to really like the mellow pups like myself. I would do best in an owned home with no kitties! I am just a simple gal who loves treats, snoozing and bellyrubs, and would really love to find my forever family today! Fill out an application, so we can set up a meet. I come to you vaccinated, micro-chipped, and spayed with an adoption fee of $350.

Hi! Hello! Are you ready to play? I sure am! My name is Chloe and I am a beautiful 1 year old Cattle dog mix weighing just 30lbs. With a spring in my step and a mind as sharp as a tack, I am a special gal looking for an experienced owner to teach me some new tricks! It can take a little for me to warm up to my new adult friends, especially men, but once I do, I am full of hugs and kisses. I can be a lot when it comes to meeting new dogs friends and not every pup loves my play style, but I have made a few friends in my foster that I really get along with. And they have thought me some nice manners! When I am not running around the play yard with my doggy pals, I enjoy playing fetch with some toys or playing other interactive food toys that help stimulate my active mind. I bet I would even love to do some fun nose work exercises if you could teach me! I am a rural gal through and through, so downtown city life isn’t for me and I would much rather run around some property than do walks in the city. I would need an experienced owned home in a low traffic neighborhood and outside the city would be ideal. I also would need an adult only home with no kids ( including future kiddos) or cats, but do need a confident adult male dog in the home who could keep up with me! Even after a day of activity,  I still love to curl up on the couch with you while we eat some popcorn and watch some movies. Smart, bubbly, very energetic, and oh so gorgeous, I am ready to play with you today! Fill out an application, so we can meet. I come to you vaccinated, spayed, and micro-chipped with an adoption fee of $350.

Bonjour! Je M’appelle Gigi! Totally adorable and weighing just around the size of a croissant, I am a tiny 10 yo Chihuahua at just 4lbs. Fancy is my middle name and I take great pride in knowing all the latest fashion styles coming out of Paris. Though it can be a challenge to find things in my size, it’s not hard for me to look cute in absolutely everything! Everyone I meet says that I am a complete angel-and they aren’t lying! I am very sweet and affectionate gal who knows what I want and am happy to communicate that to you. For example, I love being with my favorite adult human pals but I don’t necessarily want to be picked up or sit on your lap. I would rather just chill next to you. I’m not an athlete and if we are going for a walk, I would much rather join you safely secured in a doggy backpack or bjorn. What can I say? I love the life of luxury! Most the time, I am a napping kind of gal but have known to get the playful zoomies from time to time. I have grown up around other dogs and mostly just ignore them. Same goes for those kitties too, so I would be ok with either in my home. Since I love being with my favorite people, I would do best in an owned home with someone who isn’t gone for long work days. My fosters say I am a truly happy and silly gal with excellent house manners, and the ability to brighten the darkest corner of any room. With my cute and hilarious antics, everyone just adores me. It’s just not hard to fall in love with these angel eyes! Fill out an application today, so we can set up a meet. I come to you vaccinated, spayed, and micro-chipped with an adoption fee of $350. Au Revoir!

Can’t stop staring at the cutie on on the left?! That’s me, Abby! I tend to steal the limelight from my brother, but we are both pretty adorable, don’t cha think? At 2 years old and around 9 pounds, I am a small but exuberant yorkie mix. My brother, Charlie, he is a silly 9 year old shih tzu mix weighing in at 14lbs. We are one dynamic duo and it is imperative we stick together! Ok, well honestly, I am sure Charlie could do without me. But I would miss him too much and I am making sure this team sticks together. We are a hilarious comedy duo sure to make anyone smile! We especially love being around our favorite human pals over 12 and will ask for pets and attention. As you can see, I also enjoy playing with my favorite toys, so I am always up for a game of fetch! I have a little bit more energy than Charlie since I am a bit younger, but we tucker each other out by putting on our comedy sketches and routines. We enjoy our daily walks together or would be happy to catch some rays in the backyard too. No kitties in our home please! Charlie likes to flirt and play with other dogs, but if we are playing together I tend to get a little protective of him. I am his little sister after all! So we would do best as the only two pups in the home. You wouldn’t need much more entertainment than us anyways! We would love an owned home in a bit of a lower traffic area versus downtown. I just sometimes get a little nervous when performing for such big crowds. We are definitely ready to make this duo a trio and can’t wait to find our forever home where we can expand our act together! Maybe even some magic tricks?! So “Abracadabra!” and fill out your application today! We come to you fixed, micro-chipped, and vaccinated with an adoption fee of $350.

Why hello there! My name is Tinkers, and I’m a 7-year-old Snowshoe Siamese kitty who is a gentle giant hiding behind a bit of a  “tough guy” exterior. Look past my Resting Mad Face and initially shy nature and you’ll find a loving, playful cat who likes to hang out with his person and play chase with other cats! Once I get to know you, I’m a sweet, goofy companion who likes to spend time with my family, both human and four-legged. Though it’s taken a little time to warm up in my foster home, now that I’m comfortable, I’m often found just laying nearby or walking up and asking for chin scratches and even belly rubs! I like to sleep curled up in bed with my person or with another cat friend, if they’ll let me, and will gladly snuggle up in bed while purring up a storm. I love, love, love to play, especially with interactive toys like ribbon or fishing pole toys. You can really get me going with catnip, too, especially the catnip mice and kicker toys. If you’re busy or not around for a while, that’s okay too, since I’m happy to play solo — I’m a simple man who favors a balled up piece of paper that I can carry around and stash under furniture for later. I have a beautiful, thick coat and fortunately, I love to be brushed with a nice soft brush that helps keep my fur in good shape and looking sleek! Though I’m a Siamese-mix, I’m a very quiet companion who only speaks up sometimes, especially when I know there are treats nearby. In fact, I’m very food-motivated and my foster mom is even teaching me to give her a pay for treats — it’s too cute! It has taken me awhile to feel safe and comfortable after losing my first home, and a big part of my progress has been my feline-foster-brother. I love to follow him around, copy whatever he’s doing (he’s so cool!) and will often try to get him to play chase and wrestle with me (he’s not that into it, but I’m working on him!). I absolutely love other cats and really need a home with another confident cat or two who will be okay with me being a tag-a-long and who would enjoy playing and snuggling with me, since it’s my absolute favorite thing in the world. I’m perfectly happy being an indoor kitty and don’t mind the apartment lifestyle — I just need a nice window to perch by when the sun is shining, but nothing more than that. My ideal family would be a quiet, stable one and have experience and patience with kitties so I would have time to blossom and in return, can promise to be an entertaining and incredibly loving friend for them and their cat(s), too! I’m a healthy guy that’s had a recent dental and is not in need of any special medical care, though I am currently on a very affordable anxiety medication to help me through my next transition to my forever home. Are you interested in a special, most-handsome guy like me? Do you have a kitty or two in need of a new fuzzy friend? I think it’d be great to meet! Fill out an application to meet me today! I come to you fixed, vaccinated and micro-chipped for an adoption fee of $100.

With the COVID-19 situation continuing to advance and evolve, we wanted to give an update about measures that we’re taking to ensure the health and well-being of Pixie’s people and animals.

We are monitoring updates and recommendations from the CDC, WHO, and local authorities and are prepared to enact changes to our operations as necessary. For the time being, the shelter is operating normally. Should we decide to close the shelter to the public, rest assured that all animals in our care will continue to have their needs met by shelter staff and foster caregivers. In addition to our standard hygiene and daily sanitization measures, we are sanitizing doorknobs and other surfaces in our facility that are frequently touched.

Staff and volunteers have been instructed not to come in if they are feeling ill or know that they have been exposed to COVID-19. We do ask that visitors, volunteers, and potential adopters delay their visit to the shelter if they aren’t feeling well in order to reduce the risk of spreading illness to others.

While current evidence overwhelmingly suggests that companion animals are unlikely to become infected by COVID-19, this is a good opportunity to review your pets’ role in your general disaster preparedness plan. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommend that pet owners keep on hand the following:
*A two-week supply of food and water for each pet in your care.
*A two-week supply of each pet’s medications.
*A file that contains each pet’s care plan, vaccination and ownership records, microchip information, and a preferred contact in case of emergency.

We hope that all humans and animals in the Pixie community stay safe and healthy during this time, and we will continue to provide updates as the situation develops.

Roses are Red and so am I! Valentine’s day may be over, but it’s never too late to add some shades of Red to your life. I am a 8 year old Min Pin weighing around 16 lbs with an adorable floppy-upright ear situation going on. It’s quite goofy, but matches my silly personality! I am a very sensitive and mellow gent with a love of sunbathing and walks around the block. But boy do I get excited when I get to meet new four legged friends! In fact, my foster says I am one of the only smalls that will play with the big doggies in the home. I get so wiggly and flirty with the cutest play bow that entices everyone to join in the fun! I have even met the resident cats and would be fine sharing a home with a dog savvy cat. It can take a second to warm up to my human friends though, so someone who is patient and can let me blossom on my own time. After a long day of play, I voluntarily take my pre-dinner nap in my crate before scarfing down my yummy supper. I am a fairly independent guy and not a huge fan of cuddles, but will let you know when I am ready for snuggles. Being an older gent, I would love to retire to an adult only owned home, but would be happy to be joined by some furry siblings. Cute, funny, and a sensitive soul, you don’t need an arrow from cupid to fall in love with me! Fill out an application today and we can set up a meet. I come to you vaccinated, micro-chipped and neutered with an adoption fee of $350.

*THIS DOG IS NOT BEING RE-HOMED THROUGH THE PIXIE PROJECT. THIS IS A COURTESY POST ONLY; PLEASE CALL OR EMAIL KATIE AT THE CONTACT INFO BELOW FOR MORE DETAILS*

My name is Ozzy and I am a handsome 1 year old, 12lb, Chihuahua/Terrier mix with a loving personality. I’m a social butterfly with my human friends, and a spunky playmate with other dogs. I love learning new tricks, morning naps, playing with toys, and heading to the dog park for exercise. I’m great with adults, but children are a bit too unpredictable for me. I would do well in a quiet, owned home with another calm dog friend. I’m not a fan of super long work days and would love a doggy friend to keep me company, and someone who is patient and can help build my confidence of being home alone. My dog-parents would help by developing leave-training habits as I deal with separation anxiety. Being smart and food motivated has helped me learn many basic commands, and will help with coping mechanisms. If you’re interested, contact my owner to set up a meet. I come to you vaccinated, micro-chipped, and spayed with an adoption fee of $350.
