Trail Blazer star Jusuf Nurkić spent an afternoon at Pixie as part of a promotion with CarMax to highlight some of his favorite places in Portland! Jusuf loves cats and we had a blast showing off the shelter and the adoptable animals in our care.

Adrian is an amazing long-time volunteer! Starting as a summer intern and continuing after his program ended, Adrian works with the Pixie dogs, cats, helps with events and is always happy to chip in with any other task that pops up around the shelter. He’ll even stop in unscheduled just to check and see if we need any help. He’s one of our most valuable volunteers and we’re lucky to have him on our team!

Mike has been volunteering in our low-cost veterinary clinic since 2016 and is an absolute Pixie rockstar. If there’s something that needs doing, he’s on it—from training new clinic volunteers to caring for the pre- and post-op cats and dogs, from cleaning up messes to running errands. On top of that, he has the most amazing positive attitude and infectious energy, even on the most stressful days.
