Oh hello there! My name is Saul and I am a big lovable and goofy Husky guy. At 10 years old, I still try to be an active and spry guy, though my body does not always keep up with my lively spirit. But I do enjoy my short walks around the block, taking in all the sights and smells. I will even get quite spunky when I meet my dog friends and will try to play. The Pixie ladies think it is quite adorable! No kitties in my home please. Overall, I am a very quiet guy but can be a husky talker at times. I would do best in a house set up with not a lot of stairs and some space to stretch my legs. I am very affectionate with my human pals and love to get pets and back skritches. Besides some old man bones, I am a healthy guy and even have a dental cleaning scheduled soon which will get me all up to date on everything. I am a great snuggler and a perfect companion for someone who just wants to hang out and enjoy each other’s company. This sweet old man is ready to settle into his retirement home today. Will it be with you? Fill out an application to set up a meet. I come to you vaccinated, micro-chipped, and neutered with an adoption fee of $350. It may be cloudy, but at least there is a chance of Meatball!! At 10 years old, I am an adorable and beefy Pitbull mix with a lovable, squishy face and a big brisket. Always a happy girl full of smiles, I absolutely adore people and am always eager to meet new friends over 8! No matter what life has thrown at me in the past, I have always remained resilient and really just loved to be loved. In fact, if you are giving me pets and you hit a favorite spot, I will roll onto my back and kick my legs in the air in order to make an optimal petting zone. At 50lbs, I still think I am a lap dog and will curl up with you on the couch for a snooze, snoring the night away. My foster says I am very food motivated and will even do a little tippy tap dance when it’s time for dinner. I am enjoy short walks around the neighborhood, really stopping to smell the roses…and the squirrels…and the dogs…and whatever else may have trotted that way. Speaking of dogs, I am always happy to meet new doggy friends and try to play right away! I tend to chase kitties though, so none in my home please. When I am not on my many outdoor adventures, I like to take longs nap in the sun in the backyard. I am not very heat tolerant and need help staying cool on those hot days. Maybe a nice dip in a pool or run through a sprinkler? I am not crazy into playing with tennis balls, but I do enjoy a good hard chewie or chew toy. I don’t mind the city environment, but am looking for a house set up. All in all, I am just a sweet, silly, and adorable beefsquatch who is ready to live life to it’s fullest with my forever family! Fill out an application to set up a meet. I come to you spayed, microchipped, and vaccinated with an adoption fee of $350.

“Thank you for being a friend.” Cue the Golden Girls theme song for this lovely lady. My name is Helen and I am a sweet 10 year old Hound mix weighing around 60lbs. You might remember me being with my sister Ethel. Well it turns out she was a bit of a bully to me, so we had a trial separation apart. Turns out we blossom a lot better individually and are much happier, so we weren’t as bonded as they initially thought. Being very affectionate, I am all about the attention, pets and snuggles too. My ideal day would consist of a brisk walk in the morning, followed by a delicious breakfast, and then some couch time to watch our afternoon soaps. Followed by some sunbathing in the yard, and nice evening walk, and more comfy couch time while we watch some Turner Classic Movies. With my dog pals, I do best with mellow pups like myself. No kitties in our home please! Happy go lucky and always smiling, I am a resilient lady with a heart of gold. Because we are hounds, we sometimes like to talk, so apartment living isn’t for us, and a home without shared walls with neighbors is ideal. Silly and delightful, my heart is true. Will you be my pal and confidant? Fill out an application today to set up a meet. I come to you vaccinated. microchipped, and spayed with recent dental and bloodwork for a total adoption fee of $350. My name is Beethoven and I am an adorable and super affectionate 3 yo all white kitty. I am all about the pets, love, and attention from my human friends! In fact, when you hit the right spot, it’s “Roll over Beethoven” time, as I position myself just right for optimal petting. I am pretty chill guy who can usually be found napping in all types of silly positions, from upside down to curled up with paws over my nose. I am not a huge fan of other kitties or dogs, so I would be best as the only pet in the home. I am just very much a people cat and always down for snuggles, and making biscuits on your lap! Since I am an all white kitty and slightly hearing impaired, I will always need to be an indoor kitty. Which is just fine by me as I would much rather be curled up on the couch with you than go outside. Being a young gent, I sometimes am into play but I am not really high energy, so the game doesn’t last very long. In fact, my forceful head butts always let you know that I am ready for more skritches and attention. Handsome, sweet, and charming, I am ready to start composing my next symphony with you today! Fill out an application to set up a meet. I come to you vaccinated, micro-chipped, and neutered with an adoption fee of $100.

Bubba is a cuddly big boy! We met on the sidewalk where he meowed and came right to me and let me carry him all the way home; he has been giving leg rubs, lap snuggles and purrs ever since. We have searched and searched, but Bubba has no family claiming him. Bubba is a healthy boy and will be up to date on vaccinations and microchipped before he gets adopted. Bubba is energetic and curious, likes to play and would likely do well as an indoor/outdoor pet if the neighborhood was suited. Bubba is polydactyl on his front paws (cute little mittens!), and will need special attention to nail grooming to avoid ingrown nails. Bubba can get anxious around my kitty and dogs, and reacts with the typical “hsss”. Even when hissy, Bubba welcomes being pet and is not easily upset with humans. He has gone through a lot of changes in a short time span, so it is unclear if he would do best in a home where he is the only pet (maybe to begin with to adjust to home living). Bubba is comfortable with people and likes to be pet from the tip of his nose to the tip of his tail! He loves to chit chat, and will respond if spoken to. Bubba deserves a loving home, space to roam, active play time and someone who can be patient with his transition from living outside on his own. Please email lazarou@umich.edu if interested in Bubba!

Seeking the right home for my dog “Goose.” He’s a well trained 4 year old Labradoodle. He’s a mellow guy and will sleep next to you on the couch or floor for most of the day. He does like to cuddle and will fall asleep with his head on your lap or gleefully sleep in your bed if that’s allowed. I don’t let him in my bed so no pressure there, but friends do and he loves it. Goose does weigh about 80 lbs, so he’s on the large side. He’s 3/4 poodle 1/4 lab (F1B), neutered, not a chewer or digger, is well house trained, he is trained to only poop in one gravel area behind my house and not on the lawn (so that’s an options for others), he’s also trained to pull you on a skateboard if you are crazy in the same way I am… thought that’s kind of an experts only situation:)

He does sometimes pull the leash on walks, but is a quick learner when it comes to training.

He is very interested in cats but is not used to them since I do not have one and strangely none of my friends do either. I don’t think a house with a cat would be ideal. He loves the dogs he knows well but depending on the dog, he needs to meet new dogs slowly. He loves to play fetch. He’s also very good off leash on hikes. He is used to road trips, camping, hiking, etc… he’s been everywhere with me.

I’m not open to him living anywhere without a yard or property, or with anyone who’s work would leave him alone 9-5, sorry! He would do well with a family with kids above age 12 or so (he is a lot of klutzy excitable dog for the very little ones). He does do fine at home alone, I can leave him for 12 hours, I just rarely ever do that because it’s probably a bummer for him and I assume he really has to pee… A family or couple would be good, with a yard or property, or someone really devoted to dogs.

Goose had a professional assessment from a dog trainer today and this is what she said.

“I think Goose would do best in a home with no other dogs or a very confident female dog without fear or guarding issues. I would say no cats and children 12 and up. I think that the environment you’re looking for should be supportive to him not practicing barrier reactivity so watch for big windows and fences without visual barriers that are along spots with heavy foot traffic. I think someone who likes to hike and someone who has the means and the interest in continuing gooses training specifically focusing on his arousal/ reactivity while on leash and initially when greeting dogs. I would recommend in lieu of an adoption fee you request that the new owner complete two or three private training sessions.

He just needs the right environment to be happy and I can’t provide it. Basically he gets very excited and comes in a hot with new dogs, especially on leash. He does some resource guarding and barrier aggression (barking through fences). I’ll give anyone with interest lots more info.

My life has become extremely complicated with the pandemic closing my biz, illness in my family, and other complications that are not about Goose. I will not have the stability in the next few years to care for him and it’s not fair to him. This guy has been very well loved as I’ve had him since he was a pup and now my life has changed in ways that I need to embrace. It’s heartbreaking to try to find him another family but after agonizing about it for ages it’s finally time. I won’t be able to give him the home that he needs for years to come.

Please reach out or forward this to a friend if it sounds appealing. He could make someone very happy and be a great companion. Please let me know a bit about yourself and your living situation if you are interested by sending an email to liamwoods1@gmail.com

* THIS KITTY IS NOT BEING RE-HOMED THROUGH THE PIXIE PROJECT. THIS IS A COURTESY POST ONLY; PLEASE CONTACT JANE AT janecohrs@me.com FOR MORE DETAILS*

Jeff is a former stray, approximately 2 years old, neutered, vaccinated, and litter trained.  He is FIV+ but in great health. He is big on consent for touch, but he loves being picked up when he approves.  Jeff loves to snuggle and be brushed on his terms.  He’s a delightful mix of “love me and pet my belly” and “how dare you touch me!” He would do best in a family without young kids, or only with kids who understand he needs to dictate the level of affection. Jeff is EXTREMELY food motivated but we haven’t had ANY food aggression.  He is ok about taking treats from your hand but he can think nibbling on your fingers is a great game. We have not seen him around dogs. Our cats are not the best to get how he’d do in a multi cat home, we’ve had a fair bit of hissing. He has his own litter box, scratcher, house, and bed.

Jeff says no with his teeth, for the most part he doesn’t close his mouth but he has given me a few good scratches.  Jeff will need to be sedated to go to the vet. If interested in my adoption, please email janecohrs@me.com
