Due to the up-tick in adoption interest and high volume of intake requests, we are not always able to post our available cats. We are still taking cats in and reaching out to potential adopters who have submitted applications as they become available. Our application gives adopters the opportunity to let our adoption staff know what you’re looking for, and we’re happy to help you find your perfect match! If you are interested in adopting a cat (or kittens), we encourage you to fill out our general adoption application and email it to info@pixieproject.org. As soon as we receive it, our adoption staff will get back to you within 1-2 business days to make suggestions and set up a meet-and-greet appointment at that time.

I am handsome Jack! I’m a big brown tabby boy that is around 5 years old and easy to love! It took me just a little while to gain my confidence after losing the only owner I’ve known, but now that I’m settled into my foster home I am a very affectionate kitty that loves laps and will roll around on the floor, flirting with my admirers! I’m a quiet, polite guy that is very mellow and happy to entertain myself if you have work all day, and also happy to see you when you get home. I do like to conversate occasionally, and though I look a little bit like a tough-guy, I have the funniest, cutest little squeaky meow that will make you think there’s a kitten hidden in the house! It’s sure to put a smile on your face. I may be a little shy at first while I adjust to a new space, but I am great with new people now that I’m settled. A quieter adult-only space may be ideal for me, though I’m incredibly gentle and wouldn’t be an issue around children. When I’m comfortably, I actually thoroughly enjoy belly rubs! I just might take awhile to adjust to big kid energy or dogs. I’m used to the indoor lifestyle and am perfectly content to lounge around in an apartment. The fact that I’m happy indoors is ideal, since I am positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus, which just means that I will need to be an indoor-only cat and that I will need to have regular vet exams to ensure that I stay healthy and happy. Cats with FIV can live long and healthy lives just like other cats, and do not need regular medication or special food. For more information on FIV, check out this article from the Cornell Feline Health Center:  http://www.vet.cornell.edu/fhc/Health_Information/brochure_fiv.cfm.
Despite my FIV status, I’m currently a healthy kitty that even had a recent dental cleaning done, and I am ready for my forever home! I may be a little shy at first while I adjust, but I am great with new people now that I’m settled If you’re looking for a low-maintenance lover like me, I hope you’ll fill out an application to meet me soon!

–THIS IS A COURTESY POSTING; THESE CATS ARE NOT BEING HOMED THROUGH THE PIXIE PROJECT. FOR MORE INFO ON SOPHIE & BB, PLEASE CONTACT FANINA AT THE PHONE/EMAIL BELOW–

Sophie (Tabby) and BB (White) are sweet sisters who have spent the first 8 years of their life with a loving family who has to move cross country and cannot bring them along. This bonded pair play, chase and groom each other daily and need to stay together through this transition into the next phase of life. They share one top loaded litter box (no mess!) and are very well behaved cats who never urinate or scratch furniture. They are spayed and are a healthy weight. They have spent most of their time indoors although love to go out on our patio supervised. They would love a yard to explore as they get more comfortable but are fine continuing being indoor kitties. They have never quite warmed up to our 4 yr old daughter so would prefer a home without small children or other pets.

Sophie is a super special cat who loves to cuddle and lay on you the moment you sit down. Instantly she purrs and curls up a ball and will stare up at you lovingly with the most beautiful bright green eyes. She tends to be more shy with new people and loud noises but warms up quickly. She has a chicken allergy so we feed both cats food/treats without that ingredient. She never scratches or has any bad behaviors and you can pick her up and hold her like a baby. Literally the sweetest cat you will ever meet!

BB is a cat with PERSONALITY! She is more like a dog and will hear your car pull up, greet you at the door with a twitching tail, follow you around the house and talk to you with all sorts of sweet vocal sounds. Very playful and still like a young kitten, she loves to chase her toys and jump and do impressive tricks. Also, very cuddly but on her own terms. BB has gorgeous blue eyes and is part Siamese. She is very curious with new people and will sometimes swat/scratch if not being pet they way she likes. Someone who has experience or patience in learning cat cues and behaviors would be good as she really will bond to her people but may take some time to do that.

How do you do?! My name is Princess and I am a darling little 6 year old chihuahua mix weighing around 7lbs. I am very sweet, but can take some time to warm up to new people and new situations. Right now, I am looking for a foster home where I can get some rest out of the shelter while continuing to come out of my shell! I am looking for a chihuahua experienced foster in quiet adult only house set up. A yard would be preferred since I am not a huge fan of walks but would still love the opportunity to be outside on those sunny days. I don’t mind other animals, whether it be dog or cat, though prefer mellow dogs my around my size. Once I open up, I am very silly and snuggly! If you are interested in fostering me while I search for my forever home, email info@pixieproject.org

–THIS IS A COURTESY POSTING ; ROGER IS NOT BEING HOMED THROUGH THE PIXIE PROJECT. FOR MORE INFO ON ROGER, PLEASE CONTACT DANIELLE AT THE EMAIL BELOW–

Roger is a super sweet 11 year old cat who wants to snuggle and sit on your lap just about all day, every day, forever. He loves to chase a feather toy, track the sunny spots across the room throughout the day, meow to tell you how much he loves you, and did I mention snuggling? He’s been with me for four years, but sadly I am moving somewhere I am unable to take him and have to find him a new home. He has food allergies, and is currently on a special food which is easy to order online. He is very talented at being a cat magician who sneaks other pets’ food when you’re not looking. He loves other dogs and cats, but exhibits territorial behavior about his litter box, and sometimes poops outside the box. In the times when he has been the only pet he has not exhibited this behavior. That, combined with his food allergies, means he will do best as an only pet. He has only ever been an indoor cat, and I am unsure if he would know how to protect himself outside. He has never shown much of an interest in going outside. I have not had him around children, but I think he would warm up in not too much time. He is just a sweet boy who never gets tired of being near you. He sleeps with me or my dog every night, sits with me on the couch whenever I sit down, and watches birds out the window. If you are looking for an affectionate companion, Roger is waiting to warm your lap!

If you are interested in Roger, please contact Danielle at danielleholtmail@gmail.com.

I’m David S Pumpkins! I’m a big mush and word on the street is that I’m the sweetest, most loveable cat around. At 10 years old, I’m about as mellow as you would expect me to be. Though feeding time is probably my favorite time of day, my close second is when he I to cuddle on the couch with my humans. I love chin scratches and will frequently flop over onto my back in the hopes that I will entice you into giving me a belly rub! I’m a social butterfly, and am always happy to be wherever you are in your home. If you’re cooking in the kitchen, I’ll be sitting nearby to keep you company and if you’re working from home in the office, I would love to have a chair nearby so I can sleep near you. I’m pretty good with meeting new people and will often flop over and offer the big orange fuzz once I’m comfortable. Even though I’m mostly a couch potato, I can definitely get playful and love to chase dangly toys, sparkly balls and strings! I’m also a fan of the ‘nip, and will get a little wild if you give me some.  Watching birds is another favorite pass-time, and sometimes I’ll chase them back and forth through the glass! That’s about all the outdoors I need, though, as I’m used to living totally indoors and as long as I’ve got some space to roam around inside, I’m perfectly happy staying indoors forever. I’m a sizeable kitty who was almost 30 whole pounds when I came to Pixie, believe it or not! My fosters have worked hard to get me down to a healthier weight, and now I’m just over 20lbs, which is closer to ideal for me. I will definitely need to have my weight watched in my forever home and will just need to stick to a portioned diet to make sure I don’t get obese again. That being said, I am a healthy kitty with no special needs or medical conditions at this time, and Pixie is providing a dental for me to make sure my teeth are clean and good to go! I’m used to a quieter home, though I have experience living (and cuddling with!) older children and am a truly gentle giant. I am also used to being the only pet in the house, and don’t have any interest in sharing my space with other kitties. I’m well-behaved, endlessly entertaining, and just the right amount of catty with my muted meow to let you know I’m here for you. I know I’m a special boy and I can’t wait to find my forever family! Do you think I’m perfect for you? I hope you’ll fill out an application to meet me today! I come to you fixed, vaccinated, and micro-chipped (and with recent blood work and dental already done!) for an adoption fee of $80.

I am the beautiful Stella, soon to be the light of your life! I’m a stunning, super floofy, bold and confident lady that is around 11 years old. When I’m in the mood and feeling trusting, I LOVE my belly rubs, and will often allow you the pleasure of rubbing all my tummy fluff. Fortunately, I also enjoy being brushed a lot, which very much helps to maintain my beautiful fluffy coat. My personality, like my body size, is pretty big, and I always want to be the center of attention. I will often follow my fosters around, chatting and herding them around the house according to my schedule. Even though I’m an older lady, you wouldn’t know it — I’m very spry and adventurous and would love a home with some room to roam. My current fosters have a small apartment, and it’s a little confining for me. That being said, I’m totally used to being indoors and don’t have any need to go outside at all. I do like to climb and jump and chase dangly toys, and will gladly cuddle up in bed with you at night when it’s time for sleep. Even though I’m a bed snuggler, my large size makes it a little awkward for me to be a lap kitty. That being said, I’m all about being nearby wherever you are, and am wonderful company! I am used to being the Queen of the Castle and am not a fan of sharing my space with other animals. I’m also just tolerant of being picked up and carried a short while and generally like respect of my space when I ask for it, so an adult-only home is probably ideal for me, especially since that’s what I’m most used to. I don’t necessarily need a quiet home, however, since I’m happy to welcome new people into my space and am quite the socialite! Pixie has run blood work on me to ensure that I’m in good health and I even had a recent dental, so I’m ready for my new home! Don’t you think I’m just delightful? I hope you’ll fill out an application to meet me today! I come to you fixed, vaccinated, and micro-chipped for an adoption fee of $80.

Sweet, affectionate, and full of snuggles, my name is Lilly and I am 12 year old Rat Terrier mix. Weighing in at 13 lbs, I am a petite lady with a giant heart bursting with love that I am ready to share with that special family. As you can see, I am pretty much fully blind, but my foster mom says I navigate really well and even have mastered the two steps that go into the yard. Even though I am pretty adaptable, having to move around a lot or into different rentals would be too much for me  since I would need to keep learning new layouts, so a stable living situation in a house would be my ideal retirement home. I am a pretty laid back gal who is fairly independent but still am always happy to snuggle by your side. I especially love to “burrito” into the blankets, which is where you can find me most of the day. Unless it is a sunny day, and then you can find me sunbathing out in the backyard. Even though I am always down for pets, because I can’t see, I can get startled sometimes and so an adult only home would be best. My foster says that I do enjoy my walks, especially in a quieter neighborhood where there isn’t much traffic. But I only really do a jaunt up the block and then it’s back into the burrito cave. I have met other dogs and am currently residing with one in my foster, so a mellow dog who will respect my space would be ok. But I perfectly happy being your only pet companion too! My foster says that I am her favorite foster yet, but shhh. Don’t tell her I told you that! If you are looking for an easy going and calm pup who is eager to be your companion, well I am your gal! Fill out an application so we can set up a meet. I come to you vaccinated, microchipped, spayed with an up to date dental cleaning and bloodwork and an adoption fee of $350.
