Crimson had a part-time caretaker for much of her life, but never a real, indoor, family-member kind of home. Most recently, she survived at least 4 months in a remote forested area at higher elevation, about 25 miles outside of Baker City. She traveled at least 5 miles from her last known location and, through some combo of survival instinct and sheer luck, ended up at the ranch home of a rescue volunteer at the end of November 2022. She’s a senior, spayed, and received an exam, deworming, and vaccines on 12/6/22. She has multiple bends in her tail, which appear to be healed injuries, and the vet suggested it did not need any treatment unless it began bothering her (it doesn’t now). She’s extremely underweight, and enjoying the process of putting some meat on her bones. She’s very sweet and hungry for affection, and has a LOT to say to any human who will listen. Because of the ordeal she’s been through, she would do best in a quiet, gentle home, which will feel like a 5-star hotel to this little survivor. She is currently located in Baker City, and assistance with transport to Portland area may be available.
