Bunny is one of the sweetest and most playful kittens we have fostered! She came into Best Friends with her mom, her sister and her three brothers after having been born and raised outdoors in a neighborhood colony. She absolutely loves people and has a huge purr motor that turns on whenever she sees someone. She also loves toys and playing with other cats and even had a dog friend who kept her and her family warm and safe when she lived outdoors!
Being a stray/feral cat isn’t easy and at some point Bunny was either attacked by a larger animal or fell from a tree when she was a little kitten. She lost part of her tail and was unfortunately left with a damaged bob-tail that seemed to no longer be attached to the rest of her vertebrae. Now that she has been rescued she is receiving lots of cuddles, has all the plush blankets and stuffed animals she could ever want and is getting medical treatment for the first time. Her damaged tail was removed during her spay surgery and is no longer an issue for her.
X-rays show that Bunny’s back was broken during her accident and is now healed resulting in fused vertebrae and some nerve and mobility issues. Her back legs work together but not very independently and she hops like a bunny instead of walking. Bunny has no nerve damage from her tail injury and has full control over her bladder and bowel movements. She has started on Miralax to help move stool through since she can’t get into the proper position to fully bear down anymore.
We want Bunny to find a home with people who will bring her to regular vet appointments and who will stick to the pain management routine her vet sets for her. She is a fantastic little kitty and anybody would be lucky to be her forever person. She is spayed and vaccinated. Located in Baker City, and assistance with transport to Portland area may be available.
