*THIS DOG IS NOT BEING RE-HOMED THROUGH THE PIXIE PROJECT. THIS IS A COURTESY POST ONLY; PLEASE CONTACT THE OWNER DIRECTLY AT THE NUMBER LISTED BELOW*

Here’s….. Dixie! I hope you are ready for speed, cause a nice behaviorist described me as a Porsche (not a Volkswagon) I would definitely need my new person to be skilled with my make and model. Actually I am a smart strong  two year old shepherd mix. I was recently adopted by a nice lady who has helped me get over some of my jitters and learn some obedience skills but is unable to handle my challenges of leash reactivity. Sadly, she realizes that I would thrive with someone who has the time, strength, and experience for training me through this issue. So ,she has made it her mission to find just the right person.

My owner would like me to tell you she has definitely seen just how smart I am. I am a quick learner. I am house and crate trained. In fact, I go into my crate easily as I find it quite comforting. I love kids too. I have been very good around her grandkids when they come over but ,I can get a bit too rowdy when I play ball so we all  have to be careful when it comes to that. In fact, I really like people of any age,it is dogs on leashes that really get me rattled! I have met a few dogs up close and unexpected, but  things went fine as I let them “say hello”.They told my owner I was raised with other dogs but I don’t find that the same as the social scene my owner has tried to introduce me to while walking in the busy neighborhood. I have had a couple of playdates with the grandkids happy go lucky golden retriever but she does make me nervous and anxious with her “lets rumble” party style. But when they had her on leash in the backyard and I could relax awhile, I was very tolerant. I just have some arousal issues to conquer with the help of an experienced owner.

That nice behaviorist I told you about says I would do better in a home with a calm older brother doggy to show me the right track to take and calm my nerves, but not a home with cats or small kids. Also, a rural owned home with space to race around would be best.

I also want you to know that it may have taken me a while but I have gotten very attached to my owner and I am sure with your love and patience we will be close too. As you have seen in my pictures I am a pretty girl, strong, smart, and sweet just  looking for someone to love me and help me control my speed but win in my race. So if you would like to know more about me you can call Sheri Johnson at 707-889-2092 or email her at Heimomj@yahoo.com
