Hello! I’m so excited to see you! My name is Cody. I just turned 11 years old and my mom says I’m a border collie and lab mix, whatever that means. Don’t let my old age fool you though, I am still full of energy, I love to run, use my voice and chase all the squirrels out of the yard. I do get tired a lot faster though! When I’m at home, I like to hang out with my dog-brother, make sure all my humans are accounted for, and keep tabs on my bones. I’ll run after the ball, but don’t expect me to bring it back! I don’t have a lot of fun on walks (those other dogs make me anxious and a bit reactive) and I would prefer to live out my retirement in a house with a nice, fenced yard. Speaking of anxiety, I do take some meds and my mom provides me with good structure and consistency that helps a lot too. Nobody’s perfect though, right?

Back to my ideal retirement. I think older kids are cool, but even cooler would be to have an older dog-brother or dog-sister. Under one condition though, I really only like smaller dogs that aren’t going to try to compete with me and steal my bones (don’t even think about giving me a cat). If it’s just humans living in your house, that’s okay too, but I hope they’ll be home a lot because I am used to having company. My mom wants you to know that I’m super healthy, neutered, microchipped and up to date on all my vaccinations. But remember that I do take those anxiety meds and I am getting older. She also said that I’m a very good boy and it makes her really sad that I need a new home. She’s moving out of the country and can’t take me along. Thanks for reading about me – I hope we can meet soon! – Cody
