THIS DOG IS NOT BEING HOMED THROUGH THE PIXIE PROJECT. THIS IS A COURTESY POSTING; PLEASE CONTACT EVA AT THE INFO BELOW FOR MORE INFORMATION

Hello – my name is Nikko, and I’m a man on a mission. I lost my home and family, and have had some tough times ‘¦ but I am a resilient little guy, and determined to build a new life for myself.
I’m able to adapt quickly to new situations, and will easily fit right into your schedule and life. I am smart and independent, and know how to keep myself busy with my own thoughts and explorations. I am not demanding or needy, but if you’d like to spend some time with me, I will happily make room for you. I don’t have any bad habits, and would never dream of causing you any trouble.
I am calm and gentle, and love everyone around me, including other dogs and cats. I’d like for everyone to be gentle with me, as well, because I’m not good at defending myself. But I’m so good-natured that even if someone insults me, I forgive them instantly, and never hold a grudge.
I have a thick, shiny coat, with a gloroius white mane draping my sturdy little shoulders and gracing my neck and chest. My front legs feature a sprinkling of soft little freckles, and my upper arms sport tan-colored little t-shirt sleeves (I like to keep one rolled up a little higher than the other).
I love getting little massages, especially on my chest and head I will lean into your fingertips and kiss your forearm to show you how much I appreciate your kindness. I have a subtle  little  smile, and a wonderful sense of humor that I’ll reveal to you once you get to know me.
I’m about 12 years old, and despite my age, am in very good shape. I weigh about 17 pounds. I’m crazy about going for walks, and keep up a respectable trot the whole time and all along the way, the tips of my ears bounce up and down, and say ‘œhello’ to everything in my path.
I’m sorry to say that I don’t hear as well as I used to, so I won’t always know when you’re approaching, and may get startled. My eyes are a little cloudy, but I can still see well enough to have a normal life. Chain link fences can fool me into thinking they’re not there, and I might stumble over something now and then, but have no trouble otherwise.
I am sweet beyond imagining. I am, in a word, perfect.
The sad truth is that I was recently adopted to a new home, and although the person really loved me a lot (still does!), the dog and cat who already lived there didn’t like me, so I wasn’t able to stay.
But while I was there, all my health care needs were taken care of: I had a very thorough exam with the vet, and got some help with my teeth and an eyelid that kept scratching my eye and making it water. Now I feel much better, and have received a gold star for a sparkling-clean bill of health!
I am currently in foster care, and  adoptable through Multnomah County Animal Shelter. Please contact Eva at hello@bigcatdreams.com or at503-788-6988 to learn all about me.
I am ready to meet you, and when I do, I will instantly steal your heart. You will not be able to stop yourself from taking me home with you, and then wonder how you ever lived without me.
