SAM

–THIS IS A COURTESY POSTING; THIS CAT IS NOT BEING HOMED THROUGH THE PIXIE PROJECT. FOR MORE INFORMATION ABOUT SAM, PLEASE CONTACT JENI AT THE EMAIL BELOW–
Sam, my 3 1/2 year old Siamese male cat, is looking for just the right home.  Sam is a large, beautiful, nice cat with lots of energy. He lives with me in a 224 sq ft  apartment.  He would do best in a good sized house, large apartment or large condo. Sam has never been outside except in his carrier traveling to his vet. Sam is very playful and especially loves interactive play with his DaBird toys.  He is very clean, grooms himself frequently and uses the litter box to perfection!
Sam and I are very bonded. Unfortunately, I am not able to provide the interaction required given his indoor status in a small environment and I feel he deserves better.
If you love cats and have good insight into the world of Siamese cats and, in particular, Sam’s needs ~ Please contact: Jeni: jshilman@gmail.com. $50.00 rehoming fee.

I am a silly, energetic, and a friendly guy looking for my own little jungle to call my own. So forget about all you worries and have a good old time singing along to my tunes! Hi! My name is Cecil. I may seem like I am a dog, but you would have to be mistaken. I am actually a Muppet. I am an adorable 2 year old Lhasa of a Muppet with the most luscious of all eyelashes!  When I am not being pretty darn adorable, I enjoy playing with my toys with the squeaker ones being my favorite. I even try to throw the smaller ones up in the air to myself. Cute and hysterical. The whole package! I am sensitive guy and it takes me a minute to get used to transitions, but once I settle in, I am the most rewarding fun guy ever! I like to cuddle sometimes, but other times I like to hang on my bed alone. Other dogs in the home are just fine, and though I tend to chase kitties at first, those dog savvy ones help teach me the manners needed to hang with them as you can see in the picture above. I do enjoy my afternoon walks around the block, often stopping to get all the smells in before moving onto the next. Because I can be a sensitive guy, I would be best in a quiet adult only owned home. So let’s have some fun today! Fill out an application, so we can meet. I come to you vaccinated, neutered, and micro-chipped with an adoption fee of $350.

–THIS IS A COURTESY POSTING; THIS CAT IS NOT BEING HOMED THROUGH THE PIXIE PROJECT. FOR MORE INFORMATION ABOUT SWEETIE, PLEASE CONTACT KATHLEEN AT THE EMAIL/PHONE NUMBER BELOW–

Sweetie is a 3-4 year old spayed, snuggly lovebug with an unknown past.  She recently saw a vet who states that, aside from her obesity, she is in very good health.  She is also current on her vaccinations.  Paperwork and tags provided. She is as clean as a whistle but was not one bit happy about the full bath she got when she was rescued (oh, the howls!).  The poor girl is so big she had a hard time cleaning herself so needed a little help.  She seems very pleased with the results. She has been in my home for two weeks after I rescued her from an elderly neighbor who recently had a stroke and can no longer care for a pet.  Apparently, Sweetie went to her home only four months ago from a craigslist ad.

Here are my observations of her:

Sweetie is a curious, playful girl and loves to sit in laps.  I don’t think she could get too much brushing (even on her belly) and appreciates chin scratches since it’s sometimes difficult for her to reach her head with her back legs.

We found a food she likes and she likes it A LOT.  She prefers to have mini meals through the day but I’ve been trying to get her accustomed to eating twice a day.

She most definitely should be an indoor only kitty.  Not only because of her size (and therefore lack of speed!), but her darling pink toes make me believe she always has been.

She has immediately approached and said, “hello” to every visitor to my home.  She is exceedingly social and grabs the heartstrings of those who meet her.

I’ve restricted her play while she is at this weight, but think if it were up to her, she’d have a never ending game of ‘catch the bumble bee’ (wand toy).  There’s also a favored mouse she likes to ‘stalk’.  She also enjoys her naps and quiet time sitting on window sills and watching the world go by.  She doesn’t hesitate to jump up and down on beds, chairs, sills etc., but the vet advises limiting the jumps down as this is hard on her joints until she reaches her ideal size.

I hope she finds a FOREVER home that will have plenty of time for attention, love and play for her.  She so deserves this.

P.S.  She has beautiful green eyes : )

–THIS IS A COURTESY POSTING; THESE CATS ARE NOT BEING HOMED THROUGH THE PIXIE PROJECT. FOR MORE INFORMATION ABOUT THESE CATS, PLEASE CONTACT FRANCOIS AT THE EMAIL BELOW–

Meet Mufasa and Einstein! These two brothers are 5 years old and have been living together in NW Portland with their owner, who is moving and recently found out that he unfortunately won’t be able to bring them with him. Mufasa (black cat) is outgoing and enjoys meeting new people, he’s always quick to greet people at the door and enjoys a nice back scratch. Einstein (tabby cat) is a quiet thinker, he’s a little shy around new people, but once he gets to know you he’s incredibly loving and enjoys cuddling up next to you. They enjoy wrestling with each other and taking long naps on the couch with their owner. They haven’t had a chance to meet any dogs yet, and while they are known to enjoy watching the game with the guys, it’s important to note that they have little experience around kids.

Living in NW has its dangers, so these two boys have lived inside their whole lives. They’ve become excellent watch cats over the years, keeping watch at the windows ensuring no birds or squirrels make their way inside. It would be ideal for them to stay indoors as this is the life they’ve grown accustomed to, and because they’ve been together their whole lives it’s important that they stay together as they move into their new home. Mufasa and Einstein look forward to meeting you!

If you’re interested in meeting these two wonderful cats, please email Francois at fboulot@gmail.com.

JAM

–THIS IS A COURTESY POSTING; THIS CAT IS NOT BEING HOMED THROUGH THE PIXIE PROJECT. FOR MORE INFORMATION ABOUT JAM, PLEASE CONTACT KYLE AT THE EMAIL/PHONE NUMBER BELOW–

Hi, I’m Jam.  I’m an 11-year-old, healthy tabby.  My favorite past times are sleeping under the covers during the day, sleeping next to my human at night and occasional playtime.  I mostly stay inside, but I like the exploring backyard.  I’m not a huge fan of other cats, although I used to have a sister I tolerated.  Basically, I like snuggling and sweet love in a quiet house with humans I can hang out with.  I have had one dad since I was little, but sadly, the new human we live with is allergic and I give her hives. Oops.

Please contact Kyle at 503-467-6344 or kaiuhl@gmail.com to set up a time to meet!

Chocolate chip, mint, gingersnap-what’s your favorite cookie? Well the answer is obvious; it’s me of course! I am a 1 year old Shih Tzu mix weighing in at 13lbs. Though my origins are a mystery, you can tell I never had the chance to play with the other kids or really explore the world. So new situations and people are pretty overwhelming and can be a bit scary. With a few hotdogs and some time, I eventually warm up and ready to play play play! In fact, the Pixie staff say I really enjoy playing with toys. Just haven’t quite figured out the fetch part quite yet, but you could teach me! I do have some doggy friends here at Pixie and really need a playmate that suites my energy level. I can be quite wiggle worm, you know! With all the newness here, I am really just wanting some rest and relaxation out of the shelter. I am looking for an experienced sensitive dog foster or adopter who will be committed to my training to gain more confidence! I need a low traffic adult only owned home with no kids or cats. Fill out a foster or adoption application today, so we can meet! I come to you spayed, micro-chipped, and vaccinated for an adoption fee of $350.

-THIS DOG IS NOT BEING RE-HOMED THROUGH THE PIXIE PROJECT. THIS IS A COURTESY POST, PLEASE CONTACT PAUL AT THE EMAIL BELOW FOR MORE DETAILS-

Hello!  My name is Gracie.  I’m a 9-year-old pit bull and I like warm hugs, walks, hikes, and being with my family and animal friends.  I really want nothing more than to be snuggled in your lap or as close to you as I can get so you can scratch my ears and rub my belly; they say I’m too big to be a lap dog, but I respectfully disagree.  I like to run around in the great outdoors too.  Honestly, I could care less about fetching a ball or a stick but I’ll run back and forth between a couple of my friends forever.  Right now I live with two little kids (ages 3 and 4) and a cat.  I get along with them great but they have to be gone a lot for work and preschool and that means I’m all alone…which I really don’t like.  Like, really.  So, we all talked about it and agreed that I should find a home with some other dogs so I don’t get so nervous and lonely.  I’m such a sweet girl with my family and friends – when I go to the dog sitter’s or the dog park I have so much fun with the other puppies, and when I’m with the other dogs I feel nice and calm even if my people aren’t around.  Because of my separation anxiety and my tendency to get worked up and chew my way out of things when I’m alone, I must go to a home with other dogs and a family that understands me. If you are interested in bringing me into your home, please contact Paul at pdudrey@gmail.com
