Happy Tonksgiving everyone!!!  Haha, makes me chuckle every time!  I bet my goofy personality and silly antics will make you chuckle too! I’m Tonk and I’m a 9 month old Lab mix that is happy and friendly even though I’ve had kind of a rough go.  You see, I got in a car accident that has resulted in me needing one of my front legs amputated, so I’m looking for a family that can help me as I heal and adjust to my new tri-pod status. Don’t worry though! I’ll learn to get around just fine, and I’ll reward you greatly for you care with my abundance of affection and love.   I am great with dogs, and with some training will do well with dog-savvy cats.  Speaking of training, it will be important that I get into puppy classes so I can be the best dog ever!  Do I sound like the perfect companion for your family? Fill out the adoption application so we can schedule a meet and greet. I am fixed, vaccinated and microchipped.  My adoption fee is $250.

Hi, I’m Bailey. At 12 years young I’m a sweet, smart and svelte Jack Russell girl with more feminine charms and wiles than I can list! I cannot WAIT until we meet for our first date: me in a cute, figure flattering canine harness, and you in your Portlandly winter human fashions. Second date, we could go off together to your couch to cuddle, or for a walk.
Hey, let’s just meet up, and figure out the rest of our lives together!
I’ve gone on a little health food kick, and have hit the gym a bit, in preparation for our first date. So I have a darling figure, I am agile and enjoy going for walks and smelling the sights.  I have a very silky, soft fur coat due to my fish oil supplements, and I don’t mind a bit if you want to pet me and rub my ears. I just adore couch time, and will sit by your side contentedly while we keep up on our email correspondence. I am not the sort of girl who communicates by barking; I prefer flowery love letters to you, communicated by tail wag, kisses, or written on my monogrammed stationery.
I come when called, and I’ll sit and give you a high five any time, for kicks, though I prefer a treat. I am friendly to all other dogs, and would be good with older kids.  I am very good at sharing.
Being past my impetuous youth has made me a more mature and wiser girl who knows what’s important in life: I want to to be your calm and loyal best friend, love you and live with you forever in our cozy home.
Okay, so  my foster family says I am the best of my breed. And I don’t argue. So c’mon,  fill out an application  and email it or bring it on down to Pixie so we can meet up!  I am waiting. For you!  I come spayed, microchipped, and have all my vaccinations. My adoption fee is $180.

Loki 1

Hiya!!  My name is Loki, but before you read too much into that you should know I’m no little villain! In fact, I’m the most lovingest, adorablest, friendliest Chihuahua boy in the WHOLE neighborhood!!  I’m a 1 1/2 years old and 3.7 lbs soaking wet! That makes me one small little dude and very transportable. I would love to accompany you on all of your adventures and make us friends wherever we go.  Since I am a smidge on the small side I’m best in a home with older kids. I’m also good with the kitties (believe it or not, they aren’t too intimidated by me), but need work on my dog skills. I’m still working on my manners in general, so training classes would be ideal with my adoption.  Looking for a friend to nestle up on your pillow?  Email in your adoption application so we can schedule a meet and greet!  I am fixed, vaccinated and microchipped.  My adoption fee is $250.

Hello Friends, my name is Rhett and I have traveled all the way from the small Hawaiian Island of Kaua`i to find my forever home in the Portland area. I’m 25 lbs., 2-3 years old, and a shepherd/whippet (and perhaps some Jack Russell) mix.   I was a former hunting dog, which means before I was picked up at the hunting station and taken to the humane society, I most likely spent my life in a small cage with many other dogs and had sparse meals with little freedom.   Life continued to be difficult at the humane society where I was not allowed into the play yards because I got hops and the people there were afraid I would jump the fences.  So, I lived a very confined life until the folks at Kaua`i Animal Welfare Society brought me into their family and sent me to Portland where I’ve been having the time of my life ever since!  I am staying at DogTribe Doggy Day Care where I play with all sorts of dogs- big and small, young and old- I love them all!  If you have an active lifestyle and would like to have a smart buddy to join you, I’m your boy!  I enjoy jogging, hiking, and exploring the city and beyond.  After a busy day, I’m content curling up and dreaming of the fun I will have the next day.  I am neutered and my vaccinations are up to date.  If you would like to know more about me please call Toni at DogTribe 503-238-0737, or email Dinah at

NAME: Figg
SEX: Male
AGE: 2 years
BREED: Jack Russell/Whippet/Pit Bull mix
SIZE: 35 pounds
KNOWS COMMANDS: Sit, Stay, Leave it, Off, Up, Down, Speak, Paw
DIET: Grain Free
We love our adorable dog Figg, but our home and schedules are not conducive to his needs. He is extremely high energy and stubborn. He loves to run, is always exploring his surroundings, and has an obsession with rocks (he chases them, carries them around in his mouth, and digs holes for them). Figg loves to dig in general, but especially in the sand. He loves the beach! He also loves tromping through the woods with us on hikes. He’s independent outside of the house but wants to cuddle inside.
Figg was picked up in Sacramento, where he was probably a stray, and brought here as a second chance dog at the Oregon Humane Society. Since he’s been with us, we’ve learned a lot about his fears and anxieties. He’s pretty nervous outside the house. He seems like a confident dog, but he’s not. He has a lot of fears, including: men (although he has stayed with a man, so this is probably more about strangers), bikes, skateboards, scooters (anything fast with wheels), and loud noises (anything that surprises him). When he gets overwhelmed, he barks and follows or corners the thing he is scared of.
Even though he’s had training, his recall needs a lot of work and currently he cannot be off of his leash, unless the space is completely fenced. It’s essential he has a fenced yard to run and play in, somewhere familiar where he feels safe.
For the most part, he gets along with other dogs, and he’s great at playing. He especially loves to be chased, because he’s one of the fastest dogs at the park. He also likes to wrestle with us and with other dogs. He’s not much of a ball dog, but he loves to play tug, and if you combine that with fetch, he goes wild.
Indoors he needs a lot of attention. He’s very curious and will follow you around the house.
Figg needs an experienced owner. The perfect family for him is very active. You have a lot of time to devote to him. Ideally, there will always be someone home with him, or you have the means to send him to doggy daycare. There are no cats or young children in your household. He needs a patient owner. He can be challenging – it’s the terrier in him – and he will test your patience. But he has a very sweet side, and when he crawls into your lap (which he will always try to do), it’s worth it.

Handsome George

Are you looking for a class act who is as charming as he is handsome? As good spirited as he is debonair? Well look no further, my friend, for here I am. My name is George. Handsome George. I am all that and so much more. At 9 years young I have perfected all my cat skills and really know what I want from life – a couch full of sun rays, a toy with plenty of feathers, and the sweet sensation of being tickled right in that spot under the chin. Purr!  I’ve got a ton of spunk and prefer a more active environment where I can stretch my legs and get plenty of stimulation.  I do well with other animals and kids. You keep my dish full and I’ll keep you entertained, it will be the perfect partnership.  What do you say? Want to give me a try?  Fill out the adoption application so we can schedule a meet and greet. I am fixed, vaccinated and microchipped. My adoption fee is $100.

Shakka 1

The name’s Shakka, great to meet you!  I am a lovable lug of a Weimeraner who is playful and good natured. At 3 years old I have plenty of zest and will be an excellent partner for your neighborhood walks.  I’m 80 lbs and a smidge over weight, so I’d love a home that will keep me on an exercise plan. Together we can combat all the holiday snack foods!  I love my toys a little too much, so I am working on training and need a home that understands consistent, positive reinforcement.  I’m very friendly, but will be best in a home without other animals or kiddo’s until I have had more training under my belt.  Are you ready for this handsome, fun loving companion?  Fill out the adoption application so we can schedule a meet and greet.  I am fixed, vaccinated and microchipped.  My adoption fee is $250.
