Amy & Karli

Amy Sacks is the Executive Director of the Pixie Project. A devoted animal lover since childhood she began her animal rescue career in college where she ran high volume spay and neuter clinics and adoption programs. She worked with local homeless youth in her college town ensuring that animals were spayed and neutered and received all necessary veterinary care. After moving home to Portland in December 2006, Amy turned her lifelong passion into a reality with the formation of the Pixie Project. Amy currently has two rescued dogs, Chandler and Sadie, and two rescued cats Dirk and Phoebe.

Karli Covington is the Assistant Director of the Pixie Project. Also a devoted animal lover since childhood, Karli adopted her first dog Jake, an incredibly sweet pit bull mix during her third year as a Business Administration Major at the University of Southern California. After graduation, Karli remained in Los Angeles for a year before deciding to return to Portland to join her best friend Amy in developing the Pixie Project.  In November 2007, Karli added to her adoptive family with a Chihuahua mix named Malcolm.
