Welcome to the Pixie Project! We are a non-profit animal adoption center and rescue located in the heart of Portland. We are here to make animal adoption and rescue a fun, family friendly and positive experience. The small but dedicated staff here at the Pixie Project are committed to the art of match making between pet and person and take a hands on personal approach to each and every adoption.

We are so committed to helping those great homes in search of the perfect rescue dog that many times our available animals don’t even make it up on the website because as soon as they come in we know just who would love them!

We ask that all those looking for animals honor the process and the that it might take a bit of time to find that perfect animal but it’s well worth it.

PLEASE DON’T BE DISCOURAGED if you don’t see a dog or cat that fits what you hope to find. Just come on down and fill out an application and talk with us today!

Peewee

Howdy folks!  Are you looking for a wee girl with a big heart? Well stop the search here!  My name is Peewee and I’m a 7 year old girl Dachshund who’s a real lover.  I will make a perfect companion for morning rendezvous in the sunshine or pruning the garden.  I am good with other animals but I can be a bit sensitive so I’m best in an adult-only home.  I am fixed, vaccinated, microchipped and potty trained. My adoption fee is $250.  I am currently living in foster care so fill out the application at pixieproject.org so we can schedule a meet and greet!

Lexi2

Darling, precious, round, loving, good-natured and sweet are just some of the many adjectives that describe our dear Lexi! At 4 years old Lexi is a declawed girl that is looking for a family that will spend many happy moments petting and snuggling her.  She is best as an indoor kitty with mellow cat friends or by herself.  Want to see this delightful kitty in person?  Drop by the Pixie Project where she currently resides.  She is fixed, vaccinated and microchipped.  Her adoption fee is $100.

Maggie 3

Hi! So happy I ran into you! I’ve been keeping an eye out for ya. So much so that it went missing… Hope that’s ok. It’s same ol’ lovable me. Maggie! The 9 year old Chesapeake Bay Retriever mix. In case you forgot, I’m still great with other dogs and cats. Potty trained and all that house broken goodness. I am such a lover as well! Life with me would be a breeze. Easy living is what I’m all about these days. If you’ve had your eye out (no pun intended) for a low maintenance girl like me, look no further! Fill out an application an pixieproject.org to meet me. I come, spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. The search is over! Adoption fee $180

Hiiii there, I saw you walk by the window.. it looked like you were wondering who the gorgeous gal was. Well, since you were wondering, it was me, Millie! Just collecting some cuddles from my Pixie pal here. You looked like somebody I also may like to collect some cuddles from, so let me tell you a little bit about myself before we meet for real. I am a 110lb Mastiff mix, still very young at heart in a (larger than your average) 8 yr old gals body. I have all the joy and curiosity of a puppy paired with the wisdom of my years, meaning I don’t let life zip by me too fast– I enjoy relishing every moment. I could see us wandering through the neighborhood checking out all the spring blooms… listening to songbirds… sun bathing on a blanket in the park… I do pretty well with other dogs and cats too. I come spayed, microchipped, current on all vaccines and my adoption fee is  $250. I could be a great family dog or your one and only. So I think it’s about time we met, don’t you agree? Great! Just fill out an application at pixieproject.org so we can schedule it!
