Welcome to the Pixie Project! We are a non-profit animal adoption center and rescue located in the heart of Portland. We are here to make animal adoption and rescue a fun, family friendly and positive experience. The small but dedicated staff here at the Pixie Project are committed to the art of match making between pet and person and take a hands on personal approach to each and every adoption.

We are so committed to helping those great homes in search of the perfect rescue dog that many times our available animals don’t even make it up on the website because as soon as they come in we know just who would love them!

We ask that all those looking for animals honor the process and the that it might take a bit of time to find that perfect animal but it’s well worth it.

PLEASE DON’T BE DISCOURAGED if you don’t see a dog or cat that fits what you hope to find. Just come on down and fill out an application and talk with us today!

Mesa 1

Mesa. The Spanish word for “table”. Geologically a mesa takes it’s name from it’s table top characteristics. A mesa forms an elevated area of land with a flat top and steep sides. Welp! That’s enough geology for today! Hi I’m Mesa, a 9 year old Border Collie mix. The name is pretty fitting here. I weigh 81 lbs and have somewhat “mesa” characteristics. I’ve been taking medication to help with my thyroid difficulties.  With your help, staying consistent with my medication will be easy and will help me shed some weight. Besides the few extra pounds It’s been no problem for me at all. The medication is inexpensive and the Pixie Project said they would help keep me supplied. I’m happy to sit at a table with cats, dogs and kids. Care to join? I saved you a seat! Fill out an RSVP at pixieproject.org to join me. I come spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. Adoption fee $250

Howdy y’all! I’m Cowboy Biscuit and I’m the rootinest tootinest … oh, wait – I’m a super adorable 16 pound Chihuahua/Terrier mix! I love going on walks or playing with squeaky toys, but I really love snuggling on your lap. I am blind – so I do need a little extra help finding my way sometimes. I am great with dogs and cats after we’ve had a chance to meet. I would do best in a home with older children because of my vision. I can’t wait to meet you! I am neutered, microchipped, crate trained, potty trained and current on all vaccines. My adoption fee is $250

Velvet 1
Velvet 2

Velvet is often associated with nobility. Well I can’t disagree… Velvet is my name and nobility is my game. I am a Chihuahua 4 years of age. I love to snuggle and lounge around. Ya know do classy things. Strolls in the park,  sniffing around in the grass. I like to spend time with other dogs and cats but I would prefer a home with no small children. No offense kids…. I just don’t want my little dainty feet to get stepped on. Everyone thinks I’m just the cutest lady ever! If this luxurious lady sounds like a lovely time, please join me at the Pixie Project for a classy afternoon. I come spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. Fill out an application at Pixieproject.org and I’ll put you in my schedule. Adoption fee $250
